Envera 3 year contract = Improvements & Savings
The Board approved a new 3-year agreement with Envera.
The 3 year contract has lowered the yearly cost by aprox. $24k per annum, along with agreeing to this 3 year contract it was negotiated that Envera include $80K worth of add-ons/upgrades that the district determines its needs/wants at any time during the 3 years.
The Board discussed priorities for this $80k Envera capital outlay; Rizzetta has been directed to negotiate the top-ranked priority items with Envera. The residents will easily recognize some of these improvements.
According to Hillsborough County Sheriff, Mira Bay has very little crime, mostly petty in nature. Whilst security is always paramount for all of us, I would like to remind the residents that the Security system we have (and no matter what company we would have); its effectiveness is based on the laws of the State of Florida and how closed or “open” the community is. This system acts a deter-ant not necessarily a preventative system, it can and will be able to assist in stopping certain actions and will assist the local police should an event occur. Security starts with you the individual, It is up to all of us to remain vigilant, lock our vehicles and homes, and close those garage doors.
A little background to the 3 year option;
I had quit a few meetings with Envera going over the state of current and upcoming technology, what would be best for our community, and suggested we could do better with a multi-year contract. These meetings led to us also reaching out to and working with other potential security systems companies. We asked them the same questions and suggestions. I did suggest to all potential contractors, and my fellow board members, that 3 years was as long as I would recommend. The core of these systems is nearly identical the the Go’vt systems I currently work on; Historically this technology is updated typically within that 3 year time line and I did not want us to be burdened with an out dated system.
Envera came through as the most cost effective per-annum cost plus $80K worth of upgrades/add-ons at our leisure.
Overall this new contract saved Mira Bay over $150 thousand dollars.
