Once again I must report the unintended consequences of the reversal in fix for the canal walls, that will cost us more money in the long run.
I have stated before there are many other factors that the Langan Engineers are not hired to do in their SOW, thus the entire scope of the job and cost will not be calculated by them.
It is up to the supervisors to look at every possible detail and challenge to their design. here is the latest.

The official designation is Timber Piles 10 inches in diameter. They are made of pressure treated wood, they are 16 feet long, 8 of which is driven into the ground, — telephone poles, navigation aide —(tomato – tomatoe)…it still a wood pole.
Now here is the rest of the story with these “Wood poles” There will be one installed every 20 feet, in the entire 8 miles of canal where the rocks will be (minus the docks). They require a wrap that will extend above the barnacle line, they require a cap. They will require the orange diamond with black lettering with the word rock in them. This is a hazardous navigation aide. There is nothing private about them they are required by the USCG.

Adjective
1. Risky; dangerous
Synonyms: risky, dangerous, unsafe, perilous, precarious, and fraught with danger
The USCG emailed me and called me as well, they gave me rule 9; which is the navigation of narrow channels rule, they explained that is ambiguous to the minimal safe distance of the starboard side (right side) required, they said it is whatever the boater feels is safe.
They added this as well:
White markers and or buoys with an orange, diamond, circle, or square can be used to provide information or regulations such as a no wake zone or a shoal area..
As with all other aids to navigation, they should be given a wide berth to avoid possible damage to your vessel.
The rule of thumb for a ROCK hazard is 10 boat lengths, (even I would find 10 boat lengths excessive), however we do not even have 3 boat length in these narrow canals.
In order to dock their boats; Our boaters will be within 4 feet or less of these hazards.

PS. They, the navigation aides, will all have to be addressed/documented and maintained in proper accordance to all boating USCG and State of Florida rules in perpetuity
