Good news, as I said our District Engineer, Cardno, is on top of things;
Please see below for additional seawall updates from the District Engineer today (22SEP17):
Q: I received an update about 5606 Seagrass from one of the contractors and neighbors.
A: We have contacted contractors and due to the storm, most are not readily available. Hecker is readily available and is scheduled to be onsite Monday to fill the void.

Q: What concerns me is that both commented the hole is expanding towards the uplands wall.
A: We have been monitoring the site and the size of hole. The biggest risk is if the hole gets deeper, since this has a greater effect on the supporting soils of the upland wall. It does not appear to be getting deeper. Soil from the edge of the hole has fallen in, making it wider, but that soil doesn’t provide active support to the upland wall and is less of a concern even though it visually looks worse.

Q: Your update here is presenting 2 to 3 weeks’ time frame. If the hole is expanding as they think it is, do you think it will hold out for that long?
A: We plan on the hole filled on Monday and installing weep holes soon after to help alleviate the static pressure behind the wall. It is hard to predict the length of time the wall will hold out for once it is filled due to the variables such as rain. But we need to stabilize the uplands to prevent damage and alleviate the open hole safety issue.

Q: I would like to ask if there is not something/anything that can be done to attempt to stabilize or stop the hole from expanding towards the upland wall at the 5606 Seagrass residence ASAP?
A: Hecker will be filling the void Monday.
