Batting Cage update

The Batting cage was discussed at last nights meeting, it was mainly well received by the board but further study for location was suggested.

We want to keep the cost down, therefore  we don’t want the expense of fencing the cage in to use your access badge to gain access to have control over its use, so to keep it accessible to mainly the residents and remove that fencing cost we are looking to moving it to one of the parks behind the gates.

Today I took a look at Wolf Creek Park, there are 3 issues not to put it over there;

  1. The only level ground is near the hedges near the road, this would cut the grassy area of the park down to more of a narrow strip of land for the remainder of the park.
  2. It would also put the cage right in the vicinity of the houses across the street and to the side of the park.
  3. No Parking

I would rule this park out.

Landing Park however has a great area to the rear side of the playground near the swing set. There is a row of hedges on the other side and it would be flanked by palm trees where the cage go and it would actually be hard to see from the road, it will also utilize a strip of land that really has no practical Park type activity purpose. (Pictures here)  Using this strip of land at Landings Park then does not infringe upon the wide open area there that could be used for soccer, kickball etc

The Landing Park also has a security camera and parking
