Please read the Navigation study as provided by Bucjhart Horn as provided to Mira Bay
I suggest everyone reads this carefully
especially pages 11 and 12 of 12, it sums up everything that has been pointed out for the past few weeks of the hazards rip-rap creates.
It discusses
- placing of navigation aides is strongly suggested
- placing a vessel in such close proximity of rip-rap may strike it casuing damage
- dredging may threaten the structural integrity of the bulkhead
This statement is also in the report:
Option 1 bulkhead rehabilitation alternative that involves placement of rip rap along the bulkhead wall is constructed. It is likened to driving a car in proximity to a guardrail; if you keep driving towards the guardrail the car will eventually strike the rail causing damage to the car
