The Nargi’s of MiraBay

Re-elect Tim Nargi Harbor Bay CDD Seat#4

My name is Tim Nargi, and I would like to continue working to preserve our MiraBay paradise as your CDD supervisor. My wife Christine and I moved to our beloved MiraBay with our rescue pets from Washington D.C. in 2013. I am a Navy Veteran working for the U.S. Dept. of Defense, as a Senior Systems Engineer, where I have the privilege of designing, implementing, and sustaining the Defense Health Global Network. In addition to managing an annual $20 million dollar DOD budget, I am the CFO for the Selling Paradise Group /Keller Williams South Shore. I am committed to maintaining paradise by ensuring that the CDD makes informed decisions that are fiscally accountable and transparent to all residents.

I started attending CDD meetings in 2014 when MiraBay faced division over the construction of a new seawall.  I got involved by communicating with everyone involved with the project; studying our contracts; and researching MiraBay; county and state laws and regulations. My participation led to my being appointed to fill an open seat from 2016-2018. I won Harbor Bay Seat 4 in 2020 and am running for re-election so that I can utilize my experience with the goal of preserving our amazing resort quality neighborhood and keeping our residents from being overcharged!

Fellow board members have appreciated my perfect attendance, research on vendor rates, knowledge of CDD rules and regulations, and important issues including The Lagoon Shoreline Rock Restoration.

Christine and I know the rewards of working side by side with our neighbors faced with Hurricane devastation. We were able to help supply food for the” F” streets in Apollo Beach after Helene and lend a helping hand around MB for Milton clean-up. We donated $500 to gas (when no one else could find it) to keep neighbor’s generators going and MB staff vehicles gassed up so they could do their job.

We are proud of our son Bryce, a public adjuster, who is using his Drone equipment to give FREE pictures of anyone’s house in MiraBay to help them do damage assessment.   We help with locations and take notes on each house, with close to 500 complete to date.

Christine has created several MiraBay Groups and has helped our community by creating the Facebook pages for the MiraBay Resident Welcome Club; the MiraBay Mariners Club and the MiraBay Neighborhood Watch Program. She continually recruits block captains, coordinating with HCSO and putting MB on the State and National register.

Highlights from my first term include:

  • Implemented “Polish the Brass” philosophy ensuring aging MiraBay amenities brought back to exemplary standards.
  • Spearheaded vote for NO MiraBay tax increase for 2025!
  • Working with Resident experts and the original engineers and builders to research the proper fix for the seawall.
  • Implementing the Big Boppers (pool heater/conditioning equipment) and elimination of failing geothermal system thus reducing pool closures.
  • Spearheaded the removal of CLM for non-compliance of a contract and then the re-hiring of Mr. Kim to bring back MiraBay to resort-style landscaping
  • Implemented Court upgrades for longevity including Led light upgrades for cost saving on electricity bill. Implementing BBall court re-striped for Pickleball to make it a multiuse court. Ensured the new PickleBall court will be constructed following all County and Engineering requirements.
  • Working closely with CDD engineers and fought to keep the MiraBay iconic slide.
  • Spearheading the purchase and installation of the Admiral Point pool heater/conditioning system.
  • Being the only Supervisor at the time to fight for proper seawall fix that we have today. The latest Hurricane would have been more disastrous without the current seawall
  • Implemented the streamlining of resident dock applications to be included in the consent agenda using approved vetted vendors saving time and money and keeping it in the engineer’s prevue.
  • Helped negotiate the end of the Waterways lawsuit against the district, this allowed the stringent standards of the Manatee agreement to be reduced to common sense rules which allowed the reduction in boat fees to the residents and easier use of the evergreen funds for canal maintenance and upgrades vice using the general fund.
  • I have always stood up for every resident with an upland issue.
  • Worked with resident experts to upgrade the galley for improved productivity and community enjoyment.
  • Pushed for Cost Plus system, helping galley to stop losing money and we are finally turning a profit.
  • Ensured 11 Park Square parcels turnover met MiraBay standards including Landscaping at no cost to the community.
  • Recognized an issue that helped stop rental units in Compass point by informing county commissioners that the MiraBay storm water management requirements were negatively impacted by the current developer’s inadequate system that ties into ours.
  • Helped implement policies that resulted in $500k under budget outcome for FY 24.

We love being actively engaged in numerous philanthropic activities and the social groups that make MiraBay a unique and exceptional place to live.

Volunteer activities outside of MB include support for:  The Wounded Warrior Project; VFW Post 6287; St. Jude Children’s Hospital; Apollo Beach Little League Teams; Florida Sheriffs Association; Hillsborough Fire Dept; Boy Scouts; Girl Scouts; The Tampa Bay Lightning Foundation; The Cate Foundation; Zoo Tampa; The Humane Society; and during Covid we helped local businesses provide meals for all the HCSO D4 officers.

In addition to CDD meetings, residents can find me at most MiraBay club events and as a regular at our Friday Happy Hour. Christine and I love meeting fellow paradisers’ by attending and hosting events for MiraBay Wine Club, Dinner Club, Whisky society, Mariners, Beer Club and more. I am most grateful for your vote and committed to preserving this paradise we call home.
