Seawall Progress Update

If you were not already aware, the Dock Solutions contract has been signed and is fully executed.

On May 18, 2018, the Harbor Bay CDD (District) engaged Dock Solutions to repair the District’s remaining 33,144 linear feet of seawall. The contract with Dock Solutions provides that an FRP wall will be installed throughout the vast majority of the community. The total cost of the repairs, including associated engineering and legal fees, is estimated to be $10.2 million.
With the recent resolution of litigation, the Board anticipates obtaining bond financing; however, because assessments included in the County’s Tax Roll need to finalized by August 2018, the Board may need to raise an additional $2 million to cover reconstruction costs prior to bond financing becoming available.
In fiscal year 2018/2019 and over the next 3-5 years, it is the intention of the Board of Supervisors to keep CDD fees at or below the total assessments levied in the 2017/2018 fiscal year (see Table 1)*.

Dock Solutions estimates repairs will begin during the 3rd week of June.
