CDD Meeting; “The Wall”

Good Morning Mira Bay,

Hopefully you are all aware now that the Meeting agenda is posted on the Harbor Bay website. Langan is to give a presentation this evening, pretty much the same presentation as last CDD  meeting on Dec 15th, 2016, hopefully we have some new information as well.  However there are more documents that have our Engineering firm, Langan, responses to supervisors questions. None of these questions are mine.

Keep in mind; Langan sole purpose is to engineer and over see the repairs of our failed seawall.

As the duly appointed Liaison to the Seawall.  In one of many conference calls with the District Attorney and Langan Engineers, has revealed that they are not here to engineer our upland issues, or if a certain repair option interferes or creates the loss of  personal property nor  navigation nor to determine a repair based on our budget constraints.

Therefore, the questions, important as they are, and their answers; do not  to take into account the other cost issues that are directly related to the seawall repairs.

at a minimum we must be concerned about the cost for:

  • the uplands repairs that certain seawall repair options will cause,
  • temporary repairs real cost
  • follow on maintenance
  • personal property claims and
  • our budget constraints

there may be more related issues, regardless,  these are inclusive of each other for the real overall cost.

I have conducted research into all these issues above to insure we have the overall scope of this endeavor in order to make a realistic fiscally responsible solution that Mira Bay deserves for the seawall replacement.
