Konichiwa

From the land of the Rising Sun; I bid you Konichiwa on this Wednesday Morning.

Soon after passing thorough my Security check to get on Base this morning, then having my Security Clearance checked to allow me into the Data Center, then my Security Credentials checked to  log onto a  Gov’t computer I thought about the security of Mira Bay and decided to check in with Envera to see how we are doing, however much to my disappointment only to find emails from Rizzetta changing the May 4th CDD Agenda to remove Foundation Masters Engineering Concepts for the Seawall fix  from it all together.  Naturally I was concerned that we will miss an opportunity to save millions and eliminate the multitude of issues riprap causes for this community.  I was informed by council that the Chairman felt that FM and Langan were not able to get all the Questions and Answers taken care of.  If you do not remember: He and the board directed the two companies to work together at the end of the last CDD meeting (April 20th),  from what I could ascertain, they were doing just that.

Why Foundation Masters?  over a short 3 month time frame, Foundation Masters happened to be the only firm out of 7 that I tried to get to help us out.  The others wanted nothing to do with Mira Bay or wanted to be funded, which no board member can do unilateral , we can research all we want but no payments, so I have no vested interest in FM they are just the only ones willing to help.  My interest is in finding another non-intrusive way to fix the wall at a better cost for all of us.

You may recall  I wrote a paper on  Piping paper,  then I contended there is  short sheeting. I was chastised for by some in the community after Langan said I was dead wrong at the January meeting.  Langan has since admitted that piping and short sheeting is indeed happening.   I do commend  Langan was able to admit that.  However I read for this meeting coming up they say it is isolated , but they have only looked in a limited areas, so I  suggest they don’t draw a red line like before and we learn after its to late of yet more areas, especially when we have many homes losing soil at a rapid rate all over the canal community.

So I read the Questions and answers, it appears to me it is all there and the public should know.  Apparently the Chairman feels otherwise, this is what I learned this morning:

Basically, the Board does not want to have any further discussions about the potential seawall repair at a public Board meeting until FM can meet up with Langan to discuss the technical aspects of the proposal, then we will hopefully continue this discussion with the Board at the next meeting on May 18th.

Maybe this is because at the last meeting the Chairman said we didn’t really understand all this engineering stuff (its in the audio)  ( However I assure you, yours truly does) and that is when the board directed the 2 firms to work together.  Maybe this delay  is crossing all the T’s and dotting all the I’s exercise, I don’t see it that way, but if the Chairman feels this way I will make sure to get the 2 firms together to resolve….so I went ahead and am setting up that meeting.  This way there is no reason for the May 18th Agenda to leave off FM/Langan findings for the potential in millions of dollars of savings as well as eliminating the 2nd and 3rd order issues resulting in the many unfunded liabilities that riprap will cost this community now and well into the future.

PS,

To those that insist on the constant character and credential assassination attempts,  thank you for proving the message is correct, (after all Langan did),  but I have to ask why you feel the need to attempt to silence me and make it personal through these nasty and thoughtless acts. In all seriousness this is really silly…What or Who benefits by these actions?  I would also make sure you are 100% correct first with your accusations.

However I will not waiver and will continue to move forward on a more cost effective solution for ALL of Mira Bay.
