5606 Seagrass Update

Greg Woodcock, CDD Engineer, and I spent some time on the phone discussing options and ways to move forward.  I let him know that I  reached out to a few contractors to get the ball rolling, Greg actually thanked me and said they themselves were working with a couple themselves and the  more the better.

Chris from Cardno came out and surveyed several properties with me for a couple hours. We finished up at 5606 Seagrass.   Carno said there was no evidence of wall rupture nor seam separation and then verified the seawall toe kicked out from piping, we could see exactly where it happened and the soil that migrated underneath the wall. They  let me know their first order is to secure the property from further soil migration.

Three firms: Land & Seamasters, Foundation Masters, and Tampa Bay Marine all came out to survey.  I have asked all firms to come up with cost estimates for the correct fix and suggested to cover all aspects, land stabilization, uplands stabilization and new seawall as they see fit,  explained to them that Cardno would have to approve their designs as well.

Disclaimer, I can declare this an Emergency as any supervisor can so can the CDD Manager, but I can not unilaterally enter into a contract, but I can recommend and did ask for the cost estimates. I let each contractor know this does not constitute a contract between them and the Harbor Bay CDD. Cardno after surveying agreed it is a Emergency and are moving forward  and are diligently working on getting the uplands stabilized first.
